About The Position

This position works during the overnight shift and is responsible for checking in and out hotel guests in a timely and professional manner, processing all payments according to established procedures, and providing excellent guest service. The role involves a variety of front office duties to ensure guest satisfaction and maximize hotel revenue.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of front desk/guest service experience.
  • Fluent English speaking ability.
  • Ability to stand behind the desk and in front office areas frequently.
  • Ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to handle objects, products, and computer equipment.
  • Ability to use a keyboard to operate property management and reservations systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college education.
  • Other languages preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests in a friendly, prompt, and professional manner.
  • Register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services and room location.
  • Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Up-sell rooms where possible to maximize hotel revenue.
  • Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions, including posting charges, completing cashier reports, preparing deposits, and counting/securing assigned bank.
  • Complete and transmit daily accounting reports for management review.
  • Issue, control, and release guest safe-deposit boxes.
  • Communicate outstanding guest requests or issues to management.
  • Respond appropriately to guest complaints and make service recovery gestures.
  • Book guest reservations, process cancellations, revisions, and updates.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including guest room tours, concierge services, and special guest requests.
