About The Position

The Front Desk Agent will operate the front desk, assist guests with registration and checkout, and handle requests for rooms received by phone, e-mail, or customers at the desk. This role involves providing information to guests regarding rates, room availability, facilities and services, and local attractions. The agent will be proficient in the software system, manage daily transactions, and communicate with the Housekeeping Department. Responsibilities include handling payments via cash, checks, and credit cards, issuing safety deposit boxes, and ensuring a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures.

Requirements

  • Strong computer skills with Excel and Word
  • At least one year of service with a hotel, including some experience in operating or assisting at a reservation desk
  • Familiarity with the local area and its attractions
  • Ability to obtain/maintain Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma gaming license
  • Strength to move up to 25 lbs. at a time
  • Ability to stand or walk for a minimum of 8 hours
  • Ability to maneuver in or outside the casino
  • Visual acuity to observe and react to handle customer complaints or questions
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to bend, kneel, twist and stretch/reach above head
  • Good dexterity in fingers

Responsibilities

  • Operate the front desk
  • Assist guests with registration and checkout
  • Handle requests for rooms received by phone, e-mail, or customers at the desk
  • Provide information to guests concerning rates, availability of rooms, description of facilities and services, and information about area attractions and sight-seeing opportunities
  • Operate the software system, including all daily transactions and those which are not performed often
  • Communicate with the Housekeeping Department regarding guest rooms and requests
  • Receive money from guests for payment of hotel charges and make correct change
  • Handle checks and credit cards received from the guests for payment of hotel charges
  • Know all of the room rates
  • Issue safety deposit boxes to guests when requested
  • Provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules
  • Manage the operation of the registration desk efficiently
  • Keep time required for check-in and check-out to a minimum
  • See that final bills are provided to guests promptly
  • Direct guest to proper hotel staff members for food, housekeeping, laundry, and concierge services
