About The Position

At Hotel Shattuck Plaza, every guest interaction is an opportunity to create a welcoming and memorable stay. Located in downtown Berkeley, our historic hotel is looking for a friendly, dependable Part-Time Front Desk Agent / Night Auditor to join our team. This position supports both daytime Front Desk operations and overnight Night Audit coverage. Flexibility to work a combination of morning, evening, and overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hotel Front Desk, guest service, or Night Audit experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with hotel property management systems and basic computer applications.
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Comfort working with numbers, reviewing transactions, and resolving discrepancies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive guest service while helping keep Front Desk operations accurate, organized, and running smoothly.
  • Welcome guests and assist with check-in and check-out.
  • Respond to guest questions, requests, and concerns with professionalism and care.
  • Provide information about hotel amenities, dining, transportation, and local attractions.
  • Answer calls and assist with reservations and guest inquiries.
  • Manage room assignments, guest accounts, payments, and folios accurately.
  • Process reservations, room requests, and changes.
  • Communicate with Housekeeping, Engineering, and other departments to coordinate guest needs.
  • Maintain clear shift notes and communicate outstanding items to the next shift.
  • Review and reconcile daily transactions, guest accounts, and charges.
  • Complete the nightly audit, prepare reports, and follow procedures to close the business day.
  • Assist with late arrivals, early departures, and overnight guest requests.
  • Follow hotel safety and emergency procedures and communicate concerns to the appropriate contact.
