About The Position

This position is for an Assistant Coach for the Freshman Boys Basketball Team. The role involves assisting in the planning and execution of practices and games, managing equipment, communicating with athletes and parents, and supporting the Head Varsity Coach.

Requirements

• Applicant must have basic understanding of technical aspect of basketball.
• Applicants must have playing experience at the high school varsity, club, and/or college level.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with coaches, administrators, student athletes and parents.
• Must take Protecting God's Children workshop, background check, and digital fingerprints.
• After School availability (3:00 pm or after) for practices and events.
• Saturday availability during season.

Nice To Haves

• Coaching experience preferred.
• Familiarity with the Catholic High School League and knowledge of the MHSAA organizations preferred.
• Willingness to meet all League and state coaching requirements.

Responsibilities

• Planning, Organizing and Conducting daily practices
• Assist in management of uniform and equipment distribution.
• Develop practice and game strategies in accordance with the Head Varsity Coach plan.
• Maintain adequate communication with athletes and parent(s).
• Keep Athletic Director and Varsity Head Coach informed of scheduling changes, athlete and/or parental issues.
• Provide support to Head Coaches as needed.
