About The Position

St. Luke’s School, a secular college-preparatory day school serving grades 5 through 12, is seeking a part-time French teacher to instruct one or two sections of high school French. The candidate will join a World Languages department recognized for its innovative approaches, integration of advanced technology, and immersive language classes. The St. Luke’s French program has consistently received the highest national recognition, the "AATF Exemplary French Program with Distinction," since 2015.

Requirements

Fluency in French
Prior experience teaching French at the middle school, high school, or college level
Desire and ability to build authentic relationships with students
Ability to teach rich content with creative pedagogy
Superb oral and written communication skills
Flexibility and strong organizational skills
Confidence using educational technology
Excellent time management
Capacity to develop students’ critical thinking and analytical skills
Strong cultural competency skills, with demonstrated commitment to furthering an equitable and inclusive school community

Responsibilities

Teach part-time course load of 1 or 2 sections of high school French
Attend monthly Department meetings and occasional other required meetings in person or via Zoom.
Make arrangements to provide extra help for students as needed.
