About The Position

Welocalize is seeking a French Canadian Localization QA Tester / Proofreader for a long-term, on-site project in Cupertino, CA. In this role, you will ensure high-quality French (from Canada) content is accurate, natural, and polished for end-users. Your primary responsibilities include reviewing and refining localized content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, formatting, and cultural/contextual accuracy. You will also execute test cases, identify localization bugs, report issues using internal bug-tracking systems, and verify fixes. Occasional translation from English to French (from Canada) may be required. You will also explore user interfaces to find localization or functional issues, contributing to a seamless user experience. This position is ideal for individuals with native-level French (from Canada) fluency, a keen eye for detail, and an interest in quality assurance for digital products. It offers a stable, long-term opportunity to utilize both language and technical skills.

Requirements

  • On-Site in Cupertino, CA.
  • W-2 (eligible for benefits based on hours worked)
  • Monday-Friday (9:00 am - 5:00 pm -> with one hour of lunch in between -> 35 hours per week)
  • Must have a valid visa to work in the USA
  • Native language skills and cultural awareness of French and Canada.
  • Good oral and written communication.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Experience with AI tools in the hiring process is a plus, but final decisions are made by humans.

Responsibilities

  • Write and report relevant bugs and errors using best practices through the internal database system.
  • Ability to understand and prioritize tasks and issues quickly and efficiently.
  • QA various products by accurately following testing instructions and test cases.
  • Discover and report defects (bugs) using client-specific bug-tracking tools.
  • Evaluate translations in the context of software, mobile apps, and documentation.
  • Be a subject matter expert for linguistic issues in French (from Canada); be able to research and resolve linguistic questions.
  • Adhere to project-specific quality standards, trademarks, style guides, and client-preferred checklists and glossaries.
  • Troubleshoot basic problems; be able to communicate effectively and escalate testing issues.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a quality and timely manner.
  • Explore user interfaces to identify localization or functional issues.
