About The Position

The Freight Handler (Loader) assists with overall warehouse operations, including loading, unloading, and stacking products to and from pallets, the floor, or racks, as well as performing other duties assigned by Warehouse Operations Management. The role involves moving and sorting freight, following work orders or oral instructions, preparing merchandise for shipment, handling products properly, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar role in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to safely operate a pallet jack.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
• Sort cargo before loading and unloading.
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
• Load, unload, and stack merchandise onto or from pallets, the floor, or racks by hand.
• Separate merchandise for shipment to a warehouse location or according to management’s instructions.
• Maintain product integrity through proper handling.
• Apply shrink-wrap to pallets of merchandise.
• Transport merchandise directly to shipping as required.
• Follow company policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
