About The Position

Gordon Food Service is hiring a part-time first-shift Freight Handler at its distribution center in Springfield, Ohio. The position pays starting at $18.60 and is eligible for a $145 weekly bonus if the employee works at least five hours on at least two days of the work week. The schedule is Sunday from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Freight Handlers support warehouse order processing by safely removing product pallets from trailers and breaking down freight into the correct pallet configurations. They separate inbound freight by item code, account for damaged products so they are not received into sale inventory, and check pallets for structural integrity. No prior experience is required; training is provided.

The role requires working weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, and working in temperatures ranging from -25°F to 100°F. Candidates must be at least 18, able to read, write, and communicate in English, and pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Requirements
