About The Position

Gordon Food Service is hiring a part-time Freight Handler for its distribution center at 4980 Gateway Blvd. in Springfield, Ohio. The role supports warehouse order processing by safely removing product pallets from trailers and breaking down product into the correct pallet configurations. The handler separates inbound freight by item code onto good pallets, accounts for damaged product so it is not received into sale inventory, and checks pallet structural integrity. No experience is required; training is provided. The part-time shift runs from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on a flexible schedule, with Friday as the only fixed day. Starting pay is $18.60 per hour, plus a $1 second-shift premium. The position is also eligible for a $145 weekly bonus when the employee works at least five hours on at least two days of the work week.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Must be able to work in extreme cold or hot conditions, from -25°F to 100°F.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Nice To Haves

• Prior warehouse experience is preferred but not required.
