About The Position

CrossCountry Freight Solutions is seeking a Freight Handler Lead with a safety-first mindset and effective communication skills. The role involves leading by example, being accountable for the team, and performing daily warehouse duties. The Freight Handler Lead coordinates dock operations, works with dispatch and Operations Supervisors, and assists with loading and unloading freight. The position is in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is scheduled Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Compensation is $23 per hour. The role is non-exempt and has no direct reports.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 90 pounds.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous forklift experience.
• Previous supervisory or management experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all team members are on time and ready for work.
• Inspect the dock to ensure it is a clean and safe work environment.
• Coordinate dock operations with dispatch.
• Meet with Operations Supervisors for daily assignments.
• Assist with loading and unloading a wide variety of freight.
