About The Position

Gordon Food Service is hiring a Freight Handler at its distribution center in Aberdeen, Maryland. The role supports warehouse operations and customer order processing by unloading pallets of product from trailers and breaking down freight into the correct pallet configurations. The Freight Handler also separates inbound freight by item code onto good pallets, accounts for damaged products so they are not received into sale inventory, and checks pallet structural integrity. No prior experience is required; training is provided. The starting rate is $18.95 per hour, increasing to $19.33 after six months, with a maximum hourly rate of $22.74. Employees may also earn a performance-based hourly incentive, and base pay and incentives are paid weekly. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 5:30 a.m. and continuing until work is completed. Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed and work in temperatures ranging from -25°F to 100°F.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Must be able to work in extreme cold or hot conditions ranging from -25°F to 100°F.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Prior warehouse experience is preferred but not required.
