About The Position

The Freight Flow Associate is responsible for various tasks related to inventory management, merchandise handling, and customer service within the facility. This role involves operating equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, maintaining the sales floor, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, and upholding company policies and standards. The associate will also contribute to a positive team environment and act with integrity, prioritizing customer needs and striving for excellence in all tasks.

Requirements

  • 90 days of prior experience with Forklift Certification.
  • Ability to safely utilize pallet jacks.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Operates forklift safely to pick up, move, place, and position merchandise pallets.
  • Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources, collaborating with others, identifying priorities, and adapting to change.
  • Receives, stocks, and organizes merchandise and supplies, managing inventory flow, utilizing equipment appropriately, merchandising, working inventory exceptions, correcting shelf capacities, and completing required documentation.
  • Provides member service by acknowledging needs, identifying needs, providing guidance on self-service technology, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving issues, and promoting products and services.
  • Maintains the safety of the facility by conducting safety sweeps, following forklift spotting procedures, handling hazardous materials, following steel standard guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations.
  • Maintains the sales floor and merchandising presentation by zoning the area, stocking and rotating merchandise, removing damaged goods, setting up displays, maintaining modular integrity, receiving, sorting, staging, and delivering merchandise, ensuring prominent display of promotional items, processing defective merchandise, and monitoring for shrink, security risks, and safety.
  • Ensures club pick up orders are filled by assisting with picking and staging orders, ensuring products are selected and staged according to policy, and performing occasional audits for accuracy.
  • Handles, moves, and displays goods safely and correctly.
  • Tracks goods, maintains instock levels, and controls shrinkage.
  • Reports poor inventory practices and low instock levels.
  • Uses inventory tools and equipment safely and correctly.
  • Operates and maintains forklifts safely and correctly.
  • Reports poor or unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Reports when forklifts are not in proper working order.
  • Proactively identifies customers who need help and assists them with technology services and items.
  • Models and helps others with technology services.
  • Identifies shrink opportunities and problems and takes steps to fix them.
  • Properly maintains equipment and ensures products are organized and stocked correctly.
  • Works as a team, builds strong relationships, and communicates with impact, energy, and positivity.
  • Strengthens the team by helping, developing, and mentoring others, and recognizing contributions.
