Freelance Event Planner

OnHires•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

The company is a Bay Area event design and production company specializing in large-scale, high-impact corporate events. It is building a bench of experienced freelance event planners for project-based engagements during its peak season, with an immediate need from now through December 2026 and ongoing opportunities during future high-volume periods. Each engagement covers one or more defined events. Strong partners may be considered first for future projects and more permanent roles as the company grows. The planner takes over events that have already been sold and creatively designed, then independently manages delivery from handoff through wrap as part of the team and under its brand. The role includes planning and logistics, client communication, budget tracking, vendor coordination, and on-site event leadership. Occasional support for smaller proposals may be needed, although most proposals will be complete before the planner joins.

  • Serve as the organized, calm, client-facing point of contact for assigned events.
  • Run client check-ins, confirm details, and manage changes professionally and in the company's branded manner.
  • Lead on-site setup, vendor management, run of show, troubleshooting, and teardown.
