About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Analyst to work at a client site at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA. The analyst will provide support to government clients on a team of fellow FOIA Analysts. The role involves conducting FOIA and Privacy Act (PA) reviews for public release or protection of documents. Analysts will prepare and review documents in accordance with FOIA and PA, process and document requests, and interpret regulations, agency enforcement codes, and organizational policies regarding the release of agency documents. The position requires ensuring released materials do not contain personal identifiers or reveal trade secrets and other exempted information. The analyst will review completed requests for appropriateness, make necessary redactions, compose response letters, clarify requests, negotiate additional response time, and make recommendations on fees and fee waivers. Coordination with program offices for document searches and negotiation with submitters and requestors are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

Must have an Active Top Secret US Government Clearance.
US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret clearance
Bachelor’s Degree in information management or a combination of experience and education
Two Years FOIA Experience with the FOIA and PA (to include intake or review)
Familiarity with Freedom of Information Act
Computer skills required: Must be able to learn new systems and applications.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment and relate well to others
Ability to manage individual workflow effectively and improve processes when necessary

Responsibilities

Prepare and review documents in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA).
Process and document FOIA and PA requests to an organization’s records.
Interpret regulations, agency enforcement codes, and organizational policy’s regarding the release of agency documents
Ensure released materials do not contain personal identifiers or directly or indirectly reveal trade secrets and other information exempted under the applicable statuses
Review completed requests for appropriateness of materials to be or not to be released.
Make redactions as needed before release
Compose response letters, clarify requests, negotiate additional response time, and make recommendations on fees and fee waivers
Coordinate with program offices on conducting searches for responsive documents
Negotiate with submitters of records, and with requestors of those records, to clarify requests in order to make release determinations or recommendations and requirements.
