About The Position

East Lake is providing free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training through the ASC Nurse Aide Training Program. No previous experience is required; participants need a commitment to providing compassionate care to residents. The program includes free classroom and hands-on training and can prepare participants to become a CNA in a few weeks. After completing the program and testing, participants can apply for a position at one of American Senior Communities’ 100 locations across Indiana. Further opportunities are available for those who wish to advance their nursing careers. Participants are supported by ASC instructors, nurses, and CNAs. The program offers a free textbook, one-on-one instructor time, study materials, a uniform, and state testing. American Senior Communities also offers additional career pathways, including tuition and certification reimbursement, college and university partnerships, paid training, and career development.

Requirements

No previous experience is required.
Commitment to providing compassionate care to residents.
Complete the Nurse Aide Training Program and testing to qualify as a CNA.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, tooth brushing, and shaving.
Help residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
Reposition and transfer residents between beds, wheelchairs, and toilets.
Obtain and record resident vital signs, including heart rate and blood pressure, and record observations.
Answer resident call lights and assist with requests.
Build meaningful relationships with residents and provide companionship.
