Requirements

  • 5+ years of banking experience or related work experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equal experience
  • Problem solving skills necessary with ability to define problems and propose solutions.
  • Analytical skills to be able to review information and use critical thinking to make decisions.
  • Good understanding of banking center process, procedures, and systems.
  • Good understanding of operations activities of the Bank.
  • Ability to utilize intermediate Excel, Word, and PPT.
  • Good communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to present recommendations verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Thoroughness in performing work duties.
  • Ability to multi-task and change direction frequently

Nice To Haves

  • Accounting background and skills a plus.
  • Expertise in Excel to be able to use functions to solve problems, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing transactional information and alert reports to identify fraudulent activity.
  • Utilizing critical thinking to determine if action is required on alerts such as identifying unusual behavior, executing mitigating procedures, reviewing complex situations, and making decisions or escalating if there is potential for client impact.
  • Learning new software and comprehending data produced by internal and anomaly systems.
  • Reviewing alerts daily and identifying unusual behavior, performing proper mitigations, and escalating concerns.
  • Utilizing tools for fraud risk monitoring, anomaly detection and reporting, including log-in and transactional alerts for various systems (wires, ACH, retail online banking).
  • Understanding and assisting in the development of monitoring processes for transactional and login alerts.
  • Logging alerts accurately for regulatory and Board reporting.
  • Initiating mitigation procedures such as account restrictions or temporary holds on wires or ACH if suspicious activity is identified.
  • Collaborating with various departments if suspected fraud occurs.
  • Utilizing critical thinking to determine the root cause of an issue and working with others to mitigate identified risks.
  • Recommending analytical tuning as identified.
