About The Position

This job is responsible for managing a group of team leaders and employees who develop strategies and drive analytics to understand portfolio risk, increase profitability, and optimize operational performance. Key responsibilities include setting strategic priorities for the team, identifying trends, and leading efforts to maximize risk versus return for the business unit. Job expectations include using data and analytics to solve complex problems, coaching and developing employees, and partnering across technology, product, and risk leadership to drive performance. We are looking for a collaborative and knowledgeable Fraud Risk Liaison to serve as the dedicated bridge between the Payment Card Tokenization Fraud Strategy team and the Digital organization. In this pivotal partnership role, you will represent fraud strategy perspectives on upcoming digital initiatives, ensuring proactive identification and mitigation of fraud risks while supporting seamless product delivery. You will focus on relationship management, risk advisory, impact assessments, requirements gathering, and oversight of token lifecycle integration. The emphasis is on enabling Digital teams to launch secure, innovative experiences efficiently, while safeguarding the organization against tokenized payment fraud threats.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in payments risk, fraud risk management, compliance, or product risk advisory roles within financial services, fintech, or payment processing environments
  • Familiarity with anti-money laundering (AML) principles and investigations in payments context and the role of anomalous transaction detection in identifying potential fraud or AML red flags
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to explain complex fraud/tokenization concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Solid understanding of fraud economics and risk-reward trade-offs
  • Experience reviewing or contributing to technical requirements, architecture discussions, or integration specs from a risk perspective
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Proficiency in various MS tools including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree
  • Strong working knowledge of payment card tokenization ecosystems
  • 3+ years of experience in SQL querying
  • 3+ years in business analysis and consulting
  • Direct exposure to digital banking, mobile payments, digital wallet integrations, or tokenization implementations in a product delivery context
  • Background collaborating in Agile/Scrum environments with product and engineering teams
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (EMVCo Tokenization, PSD2, PCI DSS, etc.)
  • Certifications such as CFE, CAMS, or payments-specific credentials are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Establishes department-wide strategies and oversees portfolio trend analysis, forecasting, and risk/control performance
  • Leads innovation by identifying and championing large scale initiatives that improve the risk management, profitability, and control oversight of risks for their business unit(s)
  • Identifies business trends based on economic and portfolio conditions and communicates findings to senior management
  • Coaches employees on best practices for structuring complex problems, performing analysis, and communicating the results and implications of their work
  • Builds and maintains strategic relationships with peers and counterparts across product, technology, and business control functions
  • Act as the bridge between Fraud strategy and Digital team on all upcoming initiatives involving payments, digital wallets, mobile features, contactless experiences, or token-based flows.
  • Partner closely with digital product managers, fraud strategy managers, technology managers, and designers to evaluate existing flows and provide clear guidance on potential fraud impacts, customer experience trade-offs, and recommended safeguards.
  • Conduct thorough fraud risk assessments for new digital features/initiatives: evaluate how changes may introduce or amplify risks in tokenized environments, quantify potential exposure, and propose balanced mitigation approaches.
  • Facilitate deep-dive discussions and reviews of token lifecycle management aspects.
  • Translate fraud strategy needs into clear, prioritized infrastructure and technical requirements for Digital and Engineering teams.
  • Monitor and communicate emerging tokenized fraud trends, threat intelligence, and lessons learned from incidents to Digital partners, helping inform roadmap prioritization and design decisions.
