About The Position

The Franchise Communications Coordinator supports the production, administration, and distribution of communications to Choice Hotels franchisees, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of information that builds franchisee understanding of and engagement with the company's business strategy and objectives. This role owns the operational and platform-administration backbone of the franchise communications function — including distribution list management, Salesforce production workflows, and content publishing — and provides some writing and editorial support for corporate communications. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Franchise Communications.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Familiarity with Associated Press style.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable managing recurring deadlines and multiple concurrent production schedules.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and non-verbal skills, correspondence, strong writing and editorial ability).
  • Bachelor's Degree

Nice To Haves

  • Hospitality industry and/or franchise relations/communications experience preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce Account Engagement strongly preferred.
  • Content management and email distribution platform experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the biweekly email distribution lists, ensuring accuracy across all brand and audience segments.
  • Create the franchisee newsletter proofs in Salesforce and manage approvals twice a week.
  • Build and upload custom email distribution lists in Salesforce for special communications and targeted campaigns.
  • Distribute the franchisee newsletter on schedule twice a week.
  • Create and distribute the monthly actions checklist.
  • Upload all articles to our intranet, ensuring content is current and correctly tagged.
  • Coordinate distribution timing and content with the international team when applicable.
  • Monitor the corporate communications and corporate news inboxes, triaging and routing requests to the appropriate team member.
  • Support communications to franchisees for multiple internal departments, including procurement, marketing, revenue management, IT, and brand programs.
  • Serve as a writer and editor for some corporate communications, including emails, news updates, marketing promotions, brand updates, and operations updates.
  • Provide editorial support for some communications, including research, writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Manage the legal approval process for all corporate communications.
  • Other duties as assigned.
