About The Position

The Franchise Business Coach will manage personal working relationships with Franchisees while remaining committed to the brand and corporate objectives, focusing daily on standards of excellence in all areas of the business. This role involves coaching and developing assigned clubs to provide excellence in service to members, and providing guidance to Franchise personnel in all facets of Health Club operations. This includes new member growth, member service, profit center revenue generation, cost controls, marketing, purchasing, and people development. The coach will ensure franchisee compliance to Corporate standards through audits, operations evaluations, business reviews, and training programs. They will also recognize and share best practices, standards of excellence, procedures, and ideas throughout the Retro Fitness system, while staying within Franchise brand and vendor guidelines. Each interaction in the club must have a net positive impact on net members, PT dollars, overall P & L, member experience, or team growth and development. This role is a sales leader, sales trainer, and sales coach for each person within the assigned clubs. Weekly communication and meetings with the COO are expected regarding job-related activities and developments. When working with clubs, the coach must adhere to Retro Fitness’s preferred vendors, standards of excellence, and procedures, avoiding a "cowboy coach" approach. The coach will utilize existing tools and analyze financial reports to identify and address trends and issues within their district or Franchisee. They will employ effective management principles and practices to create an environment where Franchisee Gym employees are valued and respected.

Requirements

  • Builds trust and credibility with general managers, Fitness Managers, club employees, peers, Franchise Partners and operators.
  • Influences others, makes contributions, and supports group consensus.
  • Provides a clear understanding and vision of Corporate standards and priorities to Franchisees, their teams, and obtains results through influence.
  • Take immediate and appropriate action to guide Franchisee in correcting substandard performance.
  • Manages pro-actively by making timely and sound decisions, and anticipating the impact of those decisions on the Company and the Franchisee.
  • Informs the Chief Operating Officer and peers of important issues and offers potential solutions.
  • Knows how and when to escalate issues appropriately.
  • Continuously develops self professionally and personally.
  • Develop, coach and mentor Franchisee, and club team members.
  • Assists in developing action plans for continuous improvement of results in each assigned location.
  • Work through influence to ensure any action plans are incorporated into club operations and follow up for accountability.

  • Provide input for Operations Training program development and to training programs offered by other departments such as marketing, and finance.
  • Roll out new policies and procedures to Management and ensure they are properly implemented.
  • Follow up on the effectiveness of training or developmental programs through club visits.
  • Coach and guide Franchisees and their teams on interviewing best practices for clubs.
  • Support the clubs in the operations and fitness certification processes.
  • Work with clubs to build best in class onboarding and development.
  • Provide quarterly focus in DAILY KPI management through training and development.
  • Participate in Franchise Business Coaching meetings and annual conference.
  • Review Franchise Partner P&L’s.
  • Work with COO and CFO to develop action plans to address cost control areas, while ensuring adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Review Club Operational Reports (CORE – Club Operational Reports of Excellence) with Franchisee, using them as a measurement of operations’ ability to execute against company standards and as a development tool.

  • Willing to commit 110% to our team, our franchisees, assigned clubs, and our members.
  • You will be in clubs working with the team 85 to 90 % of the month.

  • Know and understand the importance of a daily commitment to KPI’s. Including; TI Conversion, Membership conversion, PT Set, Show, Close, PT EFT as percentage of base.
  • Telephony inquiry knowledge and support of guiding prospect through to an appointment.
  • Have you worked with an engineered tour before?
  • Understanding of Small group personal training and impact on PT/membership revenue
  • Daily numbers as the tool to change behaviors for success… DAILY!
