About The Position

MANE is seeking an experienced Fragrance Development Manager, Fine Fragrance to join their dynamic team in NYC. This role involves managing Evaluation projects, validating and evaluating fragrances according to customer needs, and acting as a consumer and brand expert for fragrance submissions. The manager will proactively identify market opportunities and fragrance nuances that align with brand DNA. This position requires extensive expertise and involves representing the organization as a key spokesperson on client projects of moderate to high importance.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. required
  • 5+ years of fragrance evaluation experience
  • Strong project and system management skills
  • Dynamic oral and written communication skills
  • Expert Olfactive ability
  • Microsoft Office proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Make fragrance selections through collaboration between perfumery and evaluation, including smelling sessions, open dialogue, and team decision-making.
  • Manage assigned project portfolio by identifying objectives: fragrance characteristics, timetable, priority, cost, competitive price, and customer or market potential.
  • Responsible for final fragrance selection for all consumer insight sensory testing, potentially including global selections.
  • Select and develop commercially viable fragrances for assigned accounts.
  • Support the evaluation department for floating accounts.
  • Maintain knowledge of assigned accounts, including product lines, current fragrances, and submission requirements.
  • Continuously enhance market knowledge and consumer understanding in areas of specialization, staying current with new market products, consumer tastes, and olfactive trends.
  • May be responsible for managing and developing junior team members.
  • Responsible for the supervision of the department in the absence of the CFD.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and follow up on stability testing.
  • Interact with all internal fragrance departments, customers, industry contacts, and vendors, and MANE Affiliates.
  • Responsible for the assignment of accounts and supervision of the evaluation department in the absence of the CFD.
  • May supervise or mentor CFMs or Junior CFMs.
