About The Position

The Supervisor, Fragrance Compound is responsible for overseeing the compounding and material handling operations, including manufacturing of products, inventory control of raw and stock materials, bin transfers, warehouse locations, changing drums, refilling transfer containers, and mixing, filling, and sampling of finished goods. This role also involves initiating and supporting continuous improvement projects related to manufacturing effectiveness, material handling, equipment cleaning, cGMP, safety, allergen, SSOP, EFfCI, and ISO guidelines. The supervisor ensures accurate inventory control, oversees material handling duties in conjunction with Receiving and Warehouse Management, and ensures adherence to approved manufacturing protocols and record-keeping. Additionally, the position involves maintaining the UltiPro time management database, reviewing open order reports, attending production meetings, and communicating with planning and other departments to ensure stock levels and production needs are met. The role requires adherence to cGMP, safety, allergen, Halal, kosher, SSOP, SQF, EFfCI, and ISO 9001:2015 guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Ability to read and write English is required.
  • Knowledge of metric system and conversions is required.
  • Ability to understand safety labels, manufacturing instructions, safety data sheets, scale readouts, correspondence, labels, and code numbers.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions.
  • Mathematical ability needed (add, subtract, multiply, divide, conversion from metric to English units for volume and weight).
  • Reasoning ability - apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Periods of standing, walking, reaching, and bending are required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Working knowledge of current good manufacturing practices and OSHA safety regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • College Education preferred.
  • Yellow Belt - Six Sigma Lean Training, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of EFfCI, ISO 9001:2015 and SQF.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise up to 20 subordinates.
  • Oversee compounding and material handling operations.
  • Manage manufacturing of products according to special instructions.
  • Ensure inventory control of raw and stock materials.
  • Oversee bin transfers, warehouse locations, changing drums, and refilling transfer containers.
  • Manage mixing, filling, and sampling of finished goods.
  • Initiate, develop, and support continuous improvement projects for manufacturing effectiveness, material handling, and equipment cleaning.
  • Initiate, develop, and support continuous improvement in areas of cGMP, safety, allergen, SSOP, EFfCI, and ISO guidelines, and internal metrics.
  • Support accurate inventory control of materials, ensuring lot numbers, warehouse locations, bins, and labeling are maintained.
  • Oversee Material Handling duties in conjunction with Receiving and Warehouse Management for effective material movement.
  • Ensure adherence to approved manufacturing protocols, record keeping, and methods of operation, including SOPs, site regulations, and departmental rules.
  • Maintain UltiPro time management database for fragrance production employees, including scheduling and approving timesheets.
  • Review and maintain open order reports and production logs.
  • Attend morning production meetings to verify on-time production and shipment needs.
  • Communicate with planning and other departments to ensure stock levels are maintained and planned appropriately.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by manager.
