Rose Financial Solutions LLC•North Bethesda, MD
•$60 - $85•Remote

About The Position

Rose Financial Solutions (ROSE) is building a collective of experienced controllers who want to develop into broader advisory and CFO-level work. This contractor role serves as the financial backbone for a portfolio of growing organizations, typically ranging from $2 million to more than $50 million. Controllers gain experience across multiple client environments, work within ROSE’s Finance as a Service (FaaS) model and Easby platform, and receive mentorship from senior CFO-level leaders. The role combines monthly close ownership, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance support, client collaboration, and process improvement. Client work may include government contractors, nonprofits, and growth companies. The position is designed to develop financial infrastructure that scales with clients and to provide a pathway toward fractional CFO engagements for those ready to take on that responsibility.

  • Hands-on experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
  • Comfort working across multiple client environments simultaneously.
  • Clear communication with non-finance stakeholders, without relying on jargon.
  • A collaborative approach, avoiding silos and ensuring handoffs include context.
  • Interest in taking on more responsibility beyond executing a defined task list.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to government contracting compliance, GovCon, or regulated industries.
  • Nonprofit accounting experience, including grant management, restricted and unrestricted fund tracking, membership revenue, donor reporting, or audit preparation.

  • Produce financial statements and management reports that support client decision-making.
  • Monitor and enforce internal controls, identifying gaps before they become problems.
  • Support DCAA, FAR, and indirect rate compliance for government contractor clients.
  • Use Easby to manage transactions, approvals, reconciliations, and reporting workflows.
  • Collaborate with ROSE CFO Members and Controllers to deliver integrated financial management.
  • Support nonprofit clients with grant tracking, membership revenue, and donation accounting, ensuring funds are properly restricted, recognized, and reported.
  • Prepare or support audit-ready financial packages, including schedules and documentation for external auditors and grant compliance reviewers.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and build scalable routines.
  • Participate in client-facing meetings and translate financial data into clear, actionable guidance.

Benefits

  • Flexible contractor structure.
  • Mentorship from senior ROSE CFO Members and Controllers.
  • A pathway toward fractional CFO work and engagements.
  • Training in ROSE’s financial management framework, including FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and performance advisory.
  • Professional development and investment in career growth.
  • Exposure to high-growth companies and mission-driven leaders across a range of industries.
  • Collaboration with experts across accounting, tax, compliance, and financial technology.
