About The Position

How To MANAGE a Small Law Firm (HTM) is seeking an experienced Chief Marketing Officer / Fractional CMO to serve as a strategic marketing partner to a portfolio of law firm owners. This role involves helping owners understand their marketing numbers, develop growth-driving strategies, build systems and accountability, and transform marketing from an expense into a measurable business investment. HTM provides the client portfolio, allowing the Fractional CMO to focus on leading marketing and producing results. The position is 100% remote and offers full-time W-2 employment with a base salary and performance compensation.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of senior-level marketing leadership experience
  • Significant experience operating at the CMO level
  • Experience as a Chief Marketing Officer, Fractional CMO, or equivalent senior marketing leader
  • Experience advising, leading, or managing marketing for multiple businesses or clients
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategy, lead generation, conversion, branding, analytics, and ROI
  • A data-driven approach to making marketing decisions
  • Experience working directly with business owners, CEOs, or senior executives
  • The ability to coach, challenge, and hold business owners accountable
  • Strong business acumen and an understanding of how marketing connects to revenue
  • The ability to move between big-picture strategy and practical execution
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent leadership experience
  • Candidates must currently reside in one of the following states: AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, PA, TX, VA, or WA
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Legal, agency, consulting, professional services, or small/mid-sized business experience is a plus — but not required.
  • Experience serving as a CMO or Fractional CMO
  • Experience managing multiple businesses or clients at the same time

Responsibilities

  • Develop marketing strategies tied directly to business and revenue goals
  • Help owners identify the right marketing opportunities and priorities
  • Build marketing systems, processes, and accountability
  • Develop and refine brand strategy and positioning
  • Oversee digital and traditional marketing initiatives
  • Analyze marketing performance, KPIs, lead generation, conversion, and ROI
  • Identify what's working, what's not, and where marketing dollars should be invested
  • Coach and advise business owners who may not have a traditional marketing background
  • Mentor internal marketing team members and outside marketing partners
  • Turn strategy into execution and measurable results
  • Help clients build marketing programs that are sustainable and scalable
