About The Position

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a FPGA Design Engineer Level 2 to join our team in Linthicum, MD. Northrop Grumman is currently seeking an FPGA Design Engineer for our Linthicum, Maryland location. This role will involve contributing to the development of digital subsystems and products. The individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing digital solutions with guidance from technical leadership. Northrop Grumman seeks individuals who are self-motivated, willing to learn, and able to work with teams of engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience or Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret or Top-Secret security clearance
  • Working knowledge of digital design, FPGAs, and HDL (VHDL and Verilog) code

  • Working knowledge of the network stack
  • Working knowledge of the AXI4 protocol

  • Experience translating customer requirements and/or functional block diagrams into realized FPGA/Digital Logic Designs
  • Experience defining development test plans and/or methods
  • Able to work effectively within a development team to understand system level inter-dependencies and design constraints

Responsibilities

  • Develop digital logic designs for space applications such as satellite command and control and sensor data processing
  • Design, implementation, and modification of digital logic designs using AMD and Microchip FPGA IDEs
  • Simulation and verification of FPGA designs, compliance requirements, and supporting validation at the system level
  • Work with members of multi‐functional teams to develop innovative solutions
  • Clear and effective communication to cross-functional team members
  • Documentation of design and analysis reports as well as test reports
