About The Position

Free People is looking for a Planning & Allocation Intern to join us for the Summer. Our Planning and Allocation intern will help maximize sales and manage inventory in order to maximize sales to achieve financial objectives for the division while partnering cross functionally with all counterpart teams. Summer Internship Program Application Process: Apply to one (1) internship posting that best aligns with your interests and skills. If there is a project component included in the application (see role qualifications below), it is required and must be submitted at the time of application to be considered for the position. Complete a Video Interview: Candidates selected to move forward will receive an email with a link to complete a video interview. Once the email is received, candidates will have two (2) days to complete this portion of the application. Interviews with our internal teams will be scheduled on a rolling basis. Applications will close at 5:00 PM EST on October 30, 2026.

Requirements

  • Passionate about retail and ecommerce planning and eager to learn new skills
  • Expert command of retail math concepts and applications
  • Strong statistical analysis skills
  • Strong communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational, prioritizing, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Work in synergy with Buying and Merchandising toward common goals for the merchandise area.
  • Support planning counterparts with reporting and operational functions needed within the division.
  • Assist in developing style-level plans based on current forecast, historic trend and test information for key items or attributes.
  • Help allocate merchandise for one or more departments.
  • Participate in OTB, Strategy, and Hindsight meetings, contributing input on distribution strategies.
  • Weekly reporting on company sales and trending
  • Tracking styles on-order and turnover units
