About The Position

FP Movement is looking for a Buying Intern to join us for the Summer. This intern would focus on supporting the performance buying team. Daily tasks would include sample management, data entry, vendor communications, trend presentations, and report pulling. At this time, URBN’s Buying Internships are open to rising seniors (current undergraduate juniors) only. If you are currently a junior pursuing your undergraduate degree, we encourage you to apply! The URBN 2027 Summer Internship Program will run from 6/7 through 8/13 at our Home Office in Philadelphia, PA.

Requirements

  • Ability to prioritize projects and multitask
  • Rudimentary understanding of retail math
  • Detail oriented and creative thinker
  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to work cross functionally
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Create a concept board with 3 – 5 activewear fashion trends you see emerging for the Free People Movement customer in Fall 2027. Pull imagery from Streetwear, Pinterest, Social, runway, etc. to show your point of view – merchandisers, make it into a story!
  • Show forward-thinking future inspirational trends that move beyond where we are currently or where we have been, so show us fun trends we should have in our assortment!
  • Make the concept board as visually creative and compelling as you want!

Nice To Haves

  • Retail experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Attend buying meetings regarding product selection, design, and style
  • Support the daily designated buying area and collaborate with the assistant or associate buyer on all necessary tasks
  • Brainstorm and research new products and trends within assigned category of the business
  • Managing samples/the flow of merchandise
  • Learn the product lifecycle and buying’s role in the process
