This position involves planning and implementing a program of study for fourth-grade students, catering to their individual needs, interests, diverse backgrounds, and abilities. The role includes creating a conducive learning environment, guiding the learning process towards curriculum goals, and employing appropriate instructional methods and materials. The teacher will regularly assess student accomplishments, diagnose learning strengths and weaknesses, and communicate with colleagues, students, and parents. Responsibilities also extend to assisting administration with student life and conduct policies, developing classroom rules, and supervising support personnel and volunteers. The use of appropriate technology in teaching and maintaining accurate records are essential. Additionally, the role includes performing Medicaid administrative claims reimbursable activities, adhering to the Code of Ethics, supporting school improvement initiatives, and recognizing and acting on indicators of student distress or abuse. An appropriate testing environment and test security must be established. Applicants with a valid Florida teaching certificate may be considered for instructional positions outside their certification area via an 'out-of-field' agreement.
