About The Position

The Fountain Worker is responsible for accurately handling cash-register transactions, greeting guests cheerfully, and preparing food and beverages according to guest requests. The role provides fast, friendly, professional customer service, prepares and delivers orders, maintains appropriate stock and display levels, and keeps the work area clean and organized. The position also involves assisting coworkers and management, training new staff, attending assigned meetings and training, and resolving guest complaints promptly.

Requirements

At least 6 months of previous cash-handling experience.
Effective written and verbal communication in English in a professional manner.
Neat and professional appearance.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to interact with customers, the public, and coworkers.
Ability to use a computer and/or cash register.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks under time constraints and heavy business volume, and address sensitive staff and guest situations in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to restaurant guests and staff.
Engage guests in friendly conversation using the 10/5 Rule: make eye contact and smile at 10 feet, and greet and speak to guests at 5 feet.
Enter orders accurately into the POS terminal.
Process transactions accurately, provide correct change, account for cash, charge, and complimentary sales, and follow financial controls and procedures.
Make drinks to order according to established recipes and time guidelines.
Deliver products to customers in a timely manner.
Maintain high levels of customer service and thank guests for their patronage.
Maintain appropriate stock levels in the work area and assist with display cases and pastry par levels.
Keep the designated work area clean and organized, and help maintain surrounding and condiment areas according to health and safety standards.
Assist coworkers as needed and help management deliver food products to customers.
Assist in training new Fountain Counter Persons and management staff during their training period.
Complete periodic cleaning tasks assigned by management.
Attend mandatory meetings and training classes as assigned.
Resolve guest complaints promptly and inform management of complaints.
Prepare or serve menu items such as sandwiches or salads.
Perform basic food preparation and service.
