Responsible for the maintenance and repair of ladles and vessels, including relining AOD vessels, bottom pour ladles, and transfer ladles. This role involves making stopper rods, cleaning old linings from ladles using a chipping gun, and installing appropriate linings. The technician will also remove burned bricks from the AOD vessel and re-brick it, and position and move ladles, vessels, and refractory materials using an overhead crane. The position requires ensuring the work area is clean and free of hazards, participating in safety, health, and environmental programs, updating refractory applications, and ensuring all ladles, ladle components, and vessels meet process and quality requirements. Data collection and input are also part of the role, along with maintaining a good work ethic, attendance record, and positive attitude. Participation in lean initiatives (6S, Visual Management, Kaizen) and performing other duties as directed are expected.
