About The Position

Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Foundry Casting Processor for the 1st shift. The core hours for this position are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. The hourly rate is $19.77 per hour. This role involves performing a wide variety of duties throughout the foundry areas, following standard procedures and work instructions. Responsibilities include transporting materials, castings, and equipment using a fork truck or payloader, and using various grinding equipment and hand tools to remove defects from castings. The processor will also operate power equipment to cut sprues, gates, risers, and runners, as well as a bandsaw and power vac. Additional duties include setting up and operating automatic molding machines, operating shot blast cleaning equipment, filling small cavities, smoothing and patching surface imperfections, and performing minor maintenance and cleaning of the work area. The role also requires detecting and reporting defective materials and adhering to safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • A minimum of (3) three months manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions; includes the use and reading of fixed gauges, and other instruments not requiring interpretation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of duties throughout the foundry areas following standard procedures and/or work instructions.
  • Transport materials, castings, and/or equipment with either a fork truck or payloader.
  • Use a variety of rough grinding equipment, portable hand power tools, and bench grinders as necessary to remove parting lines, gates, risers, flash, and other surface defects as prescribed.
  • Change own small inspect grinding wheels or bits or dress wheels as necessary according to job requirement or when worn, place prescribed wheel or abrasive belt on the machine or select wheels or belts within narrow limits.
  • Operate other power equipment to cut sprues, gates, risers, and runners.
  • Operate bandsaw and change blade as required.
  • Operate power vac, repair ladles, dump and shakeout molds, hook off and shovel castings, etc.
  • Setup and operate automatic molding machines as assigned and/or following work instructions.
  • Operate shot blast cleaning equipment.
  • Fill small cavities with lab metal and smooth and patch surface imperfections within Q.C. standards and operate automatic floor sweeper.
  • Perform minor maintenance duties such as tightening loose parts (spray nozzles, etc.), replacing parts (sprues, etc.), clean assigned work area.
  • Detect and report all defective materials; refer questionable cases to proper supervision and follow prescribed or standard safety regulations.
