About The Position

Superpower is on a mission to change the way people engage with their health, for life. We are building the most comprehensive and convenient healthcare system on the planet - a thoughtfully designed, all-in-one platform for easily improving your personal health. As a Founding Software Engineer at Superpower, you will be responsible for core areas including Engineering, Product, Support, People Operations, and Business. In Engineering, you will write a lot of code, make key architectural decisions, balance speed of execution with quality, decide on technical debt, and manage developer operations. In Product, you will have significant ownership over product direction, talk to customers, tease out use cases, and make prioritization decisions. In Support, you will spend time supporting customers, answering product questions, triaging bugs, gathering feedback, and setting up the observability stack. In People Operations, you will be involved in recruiting, defining company culture, sourcing, interviewing, and closing early team members. In Business, you will be expected to sell the product and pitch the company's vision, supporting the founders in getting the product to market. Our team consists of experienced multi-time founders and is well-funded by notable investors. We are based in San Francisco with an office in SOMA. Our technical stack includes Full Stack TypeScript, React Frontend, Express/NodeJS Backend, Temporal Worker/Scheduling Layer, and AWS. We utilize productivity tools like Linear, Figma, Notion, and Slack. We are looking for individuals passionate about health & longevity with strong technical experience, extensive AWS experience, and the ability to tackle ambiguous problems.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience working as a software engineer (ideal: 5-10+ years).
  • Comfortable and excited by building a product from the first line of code to production systems serving thousands of paying customers.
  • Strong familiarity with building & deploying web applications.
  • Proficiency in writing TypeScript.
  • Experience implementing & testing new features.
  • Experience extracting & transforming data.
  • Experience troubleshooting errors.
  • Experience building responsive UIs.
  • Extensive AWS experience.
  • Familiarity with AWS networking (VPC).
  • Experience writing infrastructure as code (CDK/Terraform).
  • Knowledge of foundational/security best practices for AWS.
  • Confident in ability to tackle ambiguous problems.
  • Ability to build large-scale systems.
  • Ability to reason about performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Write code and ship product.
