Avallon is hiring its first designer to own the customer-facing experience for its AI agents, which automate the claims lifecycle from intake to settlement. The current interface was built to give agents a place to report their work, but it was not designed as the daily workspace for claims teams. As major insurance companies begin running real claims operations through the product, the designer will shape it into a reliable system that users can work in throughout the day. The role owns every customer-facing surface, from the claims workspace and review and exception flows to agent explanations and executive reporting. The designer will establish the product's design language, design system, research practice, and quality bar, and partner closely with customers, FDEs, and engineers from discovery through delivery. The work includes making agent activity, sources, and uncertainty understandable, and using behavioral data and user research to measure and reduce friction. Avallon describes itself as a fast-growing, YC-backed company building an automation layer for the insurance industry. The role is based in NYC, with in-person work expected. Compensation is $170,000–$220,000.
