About The Position

The Founding Platform Engineer will be the first and only engineer in this specialized domain, turning an original product vision into a robust, high-performance system. The role owns the platform architecture and its implementation, from infrastructure and data systems to reliability and detailed engineering decisions. The company is building an advanced, mobile-first crypto trading platform for spot and perpetual trading, alongside an original social product. The work environment is primarily asynchronous, highly independent, and suited to engineers who can scale infrastructure from zero while maintaining reliability as trading volumes grow.

Requirements

A proven track record of engineering resilience, including keeping high-stakes systems operational through massive traffic spikes and planning graceful degradation strategies.
Extensive experience building financial rewards and accounting systems that withstand retries, with a focus on idempotency, replay safety, and precise lot tracking.
Deep understanding of end-to-end latency budgets, from a user's tap through screen rendering.
Advanced database optimization skills, including resolving bottlenecks directly in PostgreSQL rather than relying on secondary databases.
Strong proficiency in Rust.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, remote environment across North American or European time zones.

Responsibilities

Own the core platform, including the data layer, rewards engine, notifications, API surface, and overall system reliability.
Integrate perpetual trading engines through Hyperliquid and spot trading through Jupiter and Relay.
Aggregate and harmonize data from providers including Zerion, CoinGecko, Mobula, Alchemy, and Hyperliquid into a cohesive source of truth.
Deliver high volumes of data quickly using resilient caching that withstands traffic stampedes and fan-out structures that hold under pressure.
Design cross-chain architecture that makes a single USDC balance across multiple chains seamless to users.
Maintain uptime during peak market volatility and ensure users can reliably close positions.
