Founding Member of Technical Staff - Forward Deployed Engineer (PE Required)
About The Position
As a forward-deployed engineer, you will work alongside customers—including developers, hyperscalers, EPCs, and their engineering teams—to turn their projects into working Aran deployments. You will learn how each customer designs, permits, and builds; configure Aran’s engines to customer standards; and deliver engineering packages on schedule. When customer needs do not fit the platform, you will write code, adjust models, or identify what the platform needs next. The role is the connection between customer problems and Aran’s product, and involves regular travel to customer offices and job sites. You will own deployments from kickoff through delivery, configure and extend parametric engines and AI agents, build integrations with customer systems, and work on site with engineering and construction teams. You will also translate field learnings into clear requirements, reusable features, and fixes, and help Aran scale from a few flagship projects to many.
Requirements
- Be a strong engineer who has shipped products or systems that real users depended on.
- Be highly proficient with AI coding agents and use them to work quickly in unfamiliar codebases and domains.
- Communicate clearly with engineers, project managers, and executives, in writing and in person.
- Stay calm and resourceful when customer deadlines are at risk, and own the outcome.
- Learn new technical domains quickly, including power, cooling, structures, permitting, and construction.
- Be willing to travel frequently to customer offices and job sites.
- Be a systems thinker and have a PE.

- Experience as a forward-deployed, solutions, or field engineer, or delivering technical projects for demanding customers.
Responsibilities
- Own Aran’s deployment on customer projects, from kickoff to delivery of an engineering package.
- Configure and extend parametric engines and AI agents to fit customer standards, templates, and workflows.
- Build integrations, scripts, and tools connecting Aran to customers’ CAD/BIM, document, and project-management systems.
- Work on site with customer engineers and construction teams to unblock issues and build trust.
- Translate field learnings into product requirements, reusable features, and fixes for the team to ship.
- Help shape how Aran scales from a few flagship projects to many.
