About The Position

As a forward-deployed engineer, you will work alongside customers—including developers, hyperscalers, EPCs, and their engineering teams—to turn customer projects into working Aran deployments. You will learn how each customer designs, permits, and builds; configure Aran’s engines to their standards; and deliver engineering packages on their schedule. When the platform does not fit a customer’s needs, you will write code, adjust models, or identify platform improvements, serving as a direct link between customer problems and the product. The role involves owning customer deployments from kickoff through delivery, configuring and extending parametric engines and AI agents, and building integrations, scripts, and tools for customers’ CAD/BIM, document, and project-management systems. You will work on site with customer engineers and construction teams, translate field experience into product requirements and reusable features, and help scale Aran across more projects. Frequent travel to customer offices and job sites is expected. This is a full-time remote position open to candidates in the United States or Canada, excluding Quebec. The listed base salary is US$150,000–$250,000 or CA$215,000–$355,000, plus founding-team equity. The company offers fully compensated health plans with 100% dependent coverage.

Requirements

Be a strong engineer who has shipped products or systems that real users depended on.
Be highly proficient with AI coding agents and use them to work quickly in unfamiliar codebases and domains.
Communicate clearly, in writing and in person, with engineers, project managers, and executives.
Stay calm and resourceful when customer deadlines are at risk, and take ownership of outcomes.
Learn new technical domains quickly, including power, cooling, structures, permitting, and construction.
Be willing to travel frequently to customer offices and job sites.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a forward-deployed, solutions, or field engineer, or delivering technical projects for demanding customers, is particularly interesting.
Experience in data centers, construction, or AEC is not required.
A degree in engineering or computer science is not required.
Prior experience in a forward-deployed or customer-facing title is not required.

Responsibilities

Own Aran's deployment on customer projects from kickoff through delivery of an engineering package.
Configure and extend parametric engines and AI agents to fit customer standards, templates, and workflows.
Build integrations, scripts, and tools connecting Aran to customers' CAD/BIM, document, and project-management systems.
Work on site with customer engineers and construction teams to resolve issues quickly and build trust.
Translate field learnings into clear product requirements, reusable features, and fixes for the team to ship.
Help shape how Aran scales from a few flagship projects to many.
