About The Position

ANCHR is transforming high-precision manufacturing in Germany by integrating technology and automation. We acquire traditional manufacturing companies and modernize them into technology-driven groups. We are looking for our first technical team member to build the foundational technology that will enable ANCHR to scale. This role involves hands-on work in production environments, connecting machinery, developing software for automation, and implementing AI/ML solutions to enhance manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Strong technical degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Physics (Master's or excellent Bachelor's).
  • Proven ability to build functional systems, demonstrated through projects (university, startup, deep-tech, or industry internships).
  • Proficiency in production-oriented software development using Python/C++/Rust.
  • Understanding of data architectures and experience with embedded systems.
  • Comfortable working with legacy interfaces.
  • Fluency in German (non-negotiable) for direct communication with machinists, foremen, and plant managers.
  • Founder mindset: proactive problem-solving, ownership, and a drive to build from scratch.
  • Early in career with significant technical depth and a hunger to build.
  • Willingness to travel to plants (approx. 50% travel).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CAD/CAM systems (Siemens NX, Mastercam, Hypermill, etc.).
  • Experience with industrial protocols (OPC-UA, Profinet, MQTT).

Responsibilities

  • Connect shop floor equipment (CNC, measuring machines, PLCs) to a modern data architecture, deciding on and building the technology stack (e.g., OPC-UA, MQTT, Edge Computing).
  • Automate CAD/CAM workflows, optimize toolpath generation, and intelligently manage NC programs to bridge the gap between engineering and the shop floor.
  • Develop production software for automated planning, real-time monitoring, and intelligent scheduling to transform manual processes into scalable systems.
  • Identify and implement AI/ML use cases for tangible impact, such as predictive maintenance, process optimization, and automatic quality control.
  • Design the system landscape for multi-site operations, deciding on build vs. buy and inter-system communication.
  • Engage in rapid prototyping within real production environments, working with machines, real orders, and deadlines.

Benefits

  • Equity participation
  • Access to the founding team
  • Freedom to make technical decisions
  • Opportunity to digitize an entire industry
  • Visible impact in weeks, not years
  • Work at the intersection of software and the physical world
  • No corporate overhead, small team, fast decisions, direct collaboration with founders
