About The Position

Vera is the fastest-growing clinical app for healthcare professionals in the world. We’re a team of just over ten. We’re already operating at a scale most teams never reach, with a team most people would think is too small to pull it off. Everyone here takes on significant responsibility, moves fast, and holds their work to an exceptionally high standard. We’re building the founding team. The people who join now will define how this company operates for the next decade and shape the future of healthcare. The product is the company. Every screen and interaction should help a clinician understand what they’re looking at, find what they need, and know what to do next. You’ll own how Vera looks, feels, and works. We’re looking for someone with exceptional taste. You have a creative point of view and can turn it into beautiful interfaces. You also understand software: how information should be organized, how interactions should behave, and how to make a complicated task feel simple. Just as much, we care about your drive. You notice things other people miss, take initiative, and keep pushing until the work is right. You’re excited by the responsibility of being the founding designer and ready to put in the effort it takes. You’ll work directly with the founders and engineers, move from ideas to prototypes quickly, and see your work reach users within days (sometimes hours). You’ll help decide what we build and stay involved through implementation, because the details matter in the product people actually use.

Requirements

Exceptional taste. You have a strong eye for typography, layout, color, and interaction. Your work shows care, creativity, and a point of view.
Product intuition. You can spot a confusing flow, question an unnecessary step, and find a simpler way. You think about the entire experience and can explain the decisions behind it.
Drive and ownership. You find problems worth solving and take them on. You’re resourceful, persistent, and comfortable making progress without a fully defined brief.
Speed with high standards. You explore quickly, seek feedback early, and know where refinement will make the biggest difference. You can ship, learn, and improve without losing your attention to detail.
Command of your tools. You’re fluent in Figma and comfortable using whatever helps you prototype, communicate, and refine your ideas. Coding is a plus, but isn’t required.
There’s no minimum experience requirement. You might have spent a few years at a startup or be coming out of school with exceptional internships and personal projects. Show us strong work, clear thinking, and the ability to follow through.

Own design across Vera’s product and brand, creating a visual identity that feels distinctive and consistent.
Turn complex clinical workflows into intuitive experiences, from the overall journey to the smallest interaction.
Talk to clinicians, watch how they use Vera, and identify where the product can serve them better.
Explore ideas through prototypes, make clear design decisions, and bring them to life with exceptional visual craft.
Work closely with engineers to get the shipped experience right.
Build and evolve a practical design system that helps a small team move quickly.
Work directly with the founders on product direction and push the experience forward every week.
