About The Position

Edge Cognara is seeking a Founding AE to be the first dedicated seller for their AI intelligence division. This role involves building the sales playbook from scratch and owning the full sales motion, targeting AI labs and enterprise AI buyers for RLHF, post-training, model evaluations, and RL environments. The position offers a significant opportunity for impact, compensation, and equity. The AE will report directly to the CEO and will be instrumental in defining the Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), pricing, and go-to-market strategy. Responsibilities include managing the full sales cycle, building relationships with key influencers, and representing Edge Cognara at industry events. The company emphasizes its unique advantages: employed talent (not contractors), campus-based HIPAA-compliant operations, and a compliance-first model, differentiating it from contractor-based platforms in the rapidly growing AI training market.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in enterprise or strategic sales
  • At least 2 years selling directly into AI labs, research organizations, or AI infrastructure buyers
  • Existing relationships at priority accounts — AI labs, frontier model teams, or enterprise AI organizations actively running post-training or evals programs
  • Track record of closing 6-figure+ contracts in a technical or emerging product category
  • Fluency in AI/ML concepts such as RLHF, post-training, model evaluation, reinforcement learning to maintain credibility
  • A bias toward hunting and building, not maintaining existing accounts

  • Warm contacts at two or more priority AI lab or enterprise AI accounts right now
  • Experience as a first or second seller at a startup
  • A network among AI researchers, ML engineers, or technical buyers that is active and trusts your judgment
  • Previous experience choosing early-stage opportunities due to upside potential

Responsibilities

  • Full sales cycle — first outreach to signed contract — for AI labs and enterprise AI buyers
  • Pipeline targeting Tier 1 and Tier 2 AI labs and Fortune 500 enterprise AI teams running RLHF, evals, and agent training programs
  • Direct partnership with the CEO on ICP definition, pricing, and go-to-market positioning
  • Building relationships with investors, VC associates, and researchers who influence buying decisions at frontier labs
  • Representation at AI conferences, research summits, and industry events
  • Developing and documenting the sales playbook
