The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation offers a substantive internship for current college or graduate students and individuals who graduated within the past six months. Interns support Foundation projects addressing issues such as education, workforce development, economic opportunity, community resilience, communications, and operations. They may work with several Foundation teams based on organizational needs and their backgrounds and interests. Typical responsibilities include research, drafting memos, and event planning and coordination, with specific assignments varying by department and semester. Interns also participate in professional development and networking, including company-wide meetings and social events, discussions with senior executives, and resume review and interview preparation workshops. The internship is expected to run from February 1 through April 9, 2027. It is paid at $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. The part-time hybrid schedule requires interns to be in the office at least three days per week at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce headquarters in downtown Washington, D.C.; fully remote applicants will not be considered. Interns are responsible for arranging their own housing if needed. Academic credit may be available to students who meet their school’s criteria. The position requires U.S. work authorization and is open to candidates with CPT and/or OPT.
