About The Position

Full-time Foster Care Supervisor position providing high-quality and compassionate service to clients in Washtenaw County and surrounding counties. This position is responsible for supervising the Foster Care Case Managers who provide services to neglected/abused children currently in foster care, birth parents, and foster parents. In addition to CWTI training, the ideal candidate will have solid experience within the child welfare field, and thorough working knowledge of licensing/foster care laws and policies as prescribed by the State of Michigan. Additionally, the candidate must possess strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and partners, provide guidance and mentorship to staff, and foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment that supports alignment, engagement, and overall success.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of foster care experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Solid experience within the child welfare field.
  • Thorough working knowledge of licensing/foster care laws and policies as prescribed by the State of Michigan.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to effectively engage with clients and partners.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • CWTI training.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree is highly preferred.
  • BSW with required CWTI training and significant experience considered.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising the Foster Care Case Managers who provide services to neglected/abused children currently in foster care, birth parents, and foster parents.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to staff.
  • Manage 24/7 crisis through shared rotating on-call availability.
  • Ensure proper coverage Monday – Friday at the Packard office.
