About The Position

The Recruiter for Foster Care Homes is responsible for recruiting, engaging, and guiding prospective foster families through the initial stages of becoming licensed caregivers. This position focuses on building community relationships, increasing awareness of the need for foster homes, and identifying individuals and families who are interested in providing safe supportive placements for children and youth in foster care.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age.
Must pass a drug screen, KBI and Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance Check
FBI fingerprint check
Lifting requirement of 30 – 50 lbs.
Must have valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and dependable transportation.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field from an accredited college and university.
MAPP Foundation Leader
Deciding Together Leader.
Two years’ experience working with children and families.

Responsibilities

Develops and implements a foster family recruitment plan including purpose, specific goals, plan of action with timeline, and estimated costs.
Provides information, answers questions about fostering, and supports prospective families through the inquiry and application process.
Conducts outreach in the community through events, presentations, informational meetings, and partnerships with local organizations.
Build and maintain relationships with community groups, faith-based organizations, businesses, and schools to promote foster care recruitment.
Responds to inquiries from individuals interested in becoming a foster family and provides accurate information about the fostering process.
Maintains regular contact with prospective families to encourage engagement throughout the recruitment process.
Tracks recruitment activities, inquiries, and prospective foster family progress in the database.
Collaborate with Licensing Specialists to ensure a smooth transition from recruitment to the licensing process.
Develop marketing materials and assist with outreach campaigns to promote foster family recruitment.
Represents the organization positively and professionally at community events, resource fairs, and public presentations.
Assists with and participates in the annual Foster Parent Appreciation event.
Completes written documentation of training for prospective foster families.
Participates in supervisory and team meetings, sharing pertinent information about children/youth/families’ progress, critical trends, barriers, and solutions to achieving outcomes.
Facilitates MAPP Foundation and Deciding Together for prospective foster families.
Supervises and transports children/youth as needed.
On-call rotation where you will be available outside of regular working hours to address any urgent issues that arise during your rotation. The essential functions during on-call periods include: Availability: Ensure that you are reachable via phone or designated communication channels at all times during the on-call period. Rapid Response: Respond to all calls or notifications immediately. Problem Resolution: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues promptly. If unable to resolve an issue independently, escalate it to the appropriate Supervisor on-call. Travel: Be prepared to travel short notice to various locations throughout the State as required to address on-site issues. This may include travel to company facilities, client sites, or other relevant locations. Documentation: Record all incidents, actions taken, and resolutions in the designated documentation system or log. Ensure that a clear handover is provided if the issue extends beyond the on-call period.
Travels throughout the state of Kansas to meeting with prospective foster families, attend community events, and provide services to children/youth.
Work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of children, families, and community partners.
Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), rules, personnel policies, and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state, and local rules, statutes, regulations, and contractual terms.
Reports critical incidents to DCF according to policy.
Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels.
Ensures clients’ rights are protected.
Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures.
