Forward Deployed Engineer
About The Position
Sola is hiring a small group of Forward Deployed Engineers to help bring its AI-native enterprise process automation platform to large enterprises. The role combines hands-on technical execution with customer-facing communication and partnership. Engineers investigate customer workflow failures, implement and verify fixes, build custom integrations, and contribute production code to Sola’s platform. They work with customers to onboard and adapt workflows, joining customer calls alongside Customer Success and owning solutions through resolution. Occasional customer travel may be needed for onboarding and key projects. The position is based five days a week in Sola’s NYC office; relocation support is available.
Requirements
- Strong technical foundations, demonstrated through a computer science degree with coding ability or hands-on experience in a strong technical environment.
- Flexibility to work across different customer environments.
- Solid understanding of core web technologies and ability to investigate complex desktop or legacy systems.
- Curiosity and drive to go wherever needed to solve difficult customer problems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Comfort writing production code for candidates coming from customer-facing engineering roles.

Responsibilities
- Investigate customer workflow failures using logs, browser tools, APIs, and code, then implement and verify fixes.
- Build custom integrations and contribute production code to the platform, turning recurring customer needs into reusable improvements.
- Join customer calls alongside Customer Success, ask questions to clarify problems, and own solutions through resolution.
- Help customers onboard and adapt their workflows to Sola.
- Occasionally travel to customers for onboarding and key projects as needed.
