Forward Deployed Engineer
About The Position
Join THE FIN, SharkNinja’s core internal transformation team, to build financial and operational capabilities from zero to one. The role embeds with business teams to address complex cross-functional challenges and deliver reliable data, automation, and AI solutions, with the resources and reach of a global business. SharkNinja is hiring across a variety of career stages. The engineer owns delivery from understanding a business problem through production, adoption, and measurable results. This includes translating ambiguous needs into working applications, data products, and automation; integrating enterprise systems and applying AI where it improves outcomes; and ensuring solutions are tested, deployed, monitored, maintained, secure, accurate, and auditable. Success means business teams use the solutions in their daily work, the solutions are accurate, reliable, and supported, and the work delivers measurable improvements in how SharkNinja operates, makes decisions, and scales.
Requirements
- Experience building and deploying production software, data products, or automation used by business teams.
- Experience in CPG, consumer products, retail, manufacturing, or another environment requiring an understanding of end-to-end business operations.
- Experience with Python or a similar data analysis language.
- Strong SQL skills, including experience with database architecture, table creation, procedures, and functions.
- Commercial acumen: ability to connect technical choices to business value and understand how changes affect teams across the business.
- Sound engineering practices across testing, security, monitoring, and documentation, including validation of AI outputs.
- A founder’s mindset: take initiative, navigate uncertainty, move quickly, and stay accountable through adoption and results.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Palantir Foundry and AIP, or comparable enterprise data and application platforms.
- Embedded engineering, business transformation, or product development experience in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Experience building intuitive interfaces that simplify complex data and workflows.
- Snowflake and DBT experience.
- Experience building production business applications in React.
Responsibilities
- Embed with business teams to understand workflows, decisions, and recurring friction, and identify opportunities with clear commercial value.
- Translate ambiguous problems into working applications, data products, and automation, iterating directly with users.
- Integrate enterprise systems and apply AI where it improves outcomes, with appropriate validation and human review.
- Test, deploy, monitor, and maintain production solutions with security, data quality, and auditability built in.
- Drive adoption by putting solutions into daily use, establishing support ownership, and measuring business results.
