About The Position

Salesforce is seeking experienced Technical Builders, known as Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs), to design, build, and deploy agentic AI solutions directly within enterprise customer environments. As an FDE, you will be part of a delivery team, collaborating with a Deployment Strategist to co-build solutions that go live in production from day one. Engagements can involve a single large strategic customer or multiple accounts simultaneously, focusing on real code, real environments, and measurable business impact. This role encompasses configuration, customization, and full-stack deployment. This specific posting is for teams focused on Global Public Sector, including Government, Nonprofit, and Education sectors. The role emphasizes an AI-Powered Development approach, utilizing tools like Cursor, Claude, and Salesforce's own coding products. You will work collaboratively with Senior FDEs and Deployment Strategists, owning components, receiving mentorship, and having a path to lead complex deliveries. You will gain frontier access to evolving agentic AI capabilities and your field insights will directly inform product development. Continuous innovation is expected, including experimenting with emerging AI tools and frameworks.

Requirements

Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
3+ years (6-10 years for Senior levels) of software engineering or technical delivery experience, with at least one production system ideally in an AI tech stack, full-stack development, or working with frontier models.
Prior customer-facing technical delivery experience (consulting, professional services, or forward deployed engineering) is a requirement.
Proven experience managing and delivering customer-facing projects within Public Sector, Higher Education, or Nonprofit environments.
Fluent in at least one of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex, and willing to learn others.
Hands-on experience with LLMs and prompt engineering, with the ability to explain prompt failures and suggest improvements.
Deep understanding of data modeling, APIs, and integration patterns.
Ability to effectively communicate with sales teams and customer architects.
Proficiency in shipping quality code and evaluating AI outputs with engineering rigor.
Active engagement in tinkering with the evolving AI/data landscape, piloting new tools, and experimenting with new models.
Excited to travel ~25% of the time.

Nice To Haves

Salesforce platform experience or certifications (Administrator, Platform Developer I, Agentforce Specialist).
Familiarity with agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex) and orchestration patterns.
Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).
Experience across specialist AI delivery areas: data engineering, platform architecture, or headless deployments.

Responsibilities

Develop AI agents and experiences that take real actions for real organizations.
Design agent intelligence, including prompts, reasoning, tool calls, and integration with customer systems, leveraging the Agentic AI platform and current LLM techniques.
Own technical components end-to-end, from architecture choice to deployed, validated, and observable in production.
Build and integrate data pipelines on Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, Databricks, and customer data platforms.
Model the data, ship the pipeline, and validate the output.
Build and maintain agent performance dashboards and customer KPI reporting to track deployment health and business outcomes.
Contribute to proofs-of-concept and MVPs that move from sketch to deployable in days.
Co-build alongside customers and partners, sharing best practices and enablement.
Surface platform gaps, edge cases, and field insights to senior Engineers and the product team.
Partner with the Deployment Strategist to translate customer business challenges into agentic solutions that ship.
