Forward Deployed Engineer

NinjaTech AI•Austin, TX
•$80,000 - $120,000•Onsite

About The Position

NinjaTech AI is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to turn large enterprise contracts into successful production deployments of its autonomous AI agent platform. The FDE embeds with enterprise customers, learns their operations and data, and owns technical success from kickoff through go-live and expansion. The role builds and integrates tailored agentic workflows into customer systems, addresses security and procurement requirements, drives adoption, and feeds field insights back to product and engineering. The position is onsite in Austin, Texas, with travel to customer sites of approximately 25%.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python and at least one of TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, or Go.
  • Comfort working across data plumbing, APIs, and some front-end development when needed for a demo.
  • Genuine curiosity about agentic AI and LLM systems, including prompt and tool design, evaluations, orchestration, guardrails, and production failure modes.
  • Ability to work with messy, large-scale, real-world data and reason about storage, pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong communication and executive presence to engage credibly with CTOs, and empathy for frontline users and their workflows.
  • Bias toward shipping quickly and precisely, iterating with users, and adapting to evolving objectives.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% to customer sites.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Austin, Texas.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience integrating solutions into regulated or security-sensitive enterprise environments, such as isolated VMs, on-premises or VPC environments, SOC 2, HIPAA, or FedRAMP-adjacent settings.
  • Prior forward-deployed, solutions-engineering, or delivery experience at an enterprise-software or infrastructure company.
  • A track record of growing an initial deployment into a significantly larger footprint.

Responsibilities

  • Embed with newly closed enterprise customers, learn their operations and data, and launch initial production agent workflows on the NinjaTech platform.
  • Integrate the platform with customer data sources, identity systems, ticketing systems, CRMs, and internal APIs.
  • Build bespoke automations, prompts, tools, and guardrails tailored to customer jobs-to-be-done.
  • Lead working sessions with customer stakeholders, from frontline operators to CISOs and CTOs; translate customer goals into architecture and explain the platform in customer-relevant terms.
  • Instrument usage, identify additional high-value workflows, and drive adoption and expansion from initial deployment to broader organizational rollout.
  • Own the technical aspects of security reviews, isolated-VM and data-residency requirements, SSO/SCIM, SOC 2 and DPA questionnaires, and technical procurement due diligence.
  • Share prioritized field feedback with core engineering and, where appropriate, contribute fixes or reusable components to improve future deployments.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Meaningful equity.
  • Delivery- and expansion-linked bonus.
