About The Position

The North Carolina Department of Revenue is recruiting for a Forms Processing Associate in our Submissions Processing Division (SPD). This is an onsite position reporting to NCDOR Headquarters, 501 N. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27604. The major purpose of this position is the review and preparation of all tax schedules/documents, to process through the scanners and post to Department’s Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS), Document Management System (DMS) Public Sector Revenue Management System (PSRM). Additional duties include maintaining various inventory reports, secure handling, preparing and destruction of Federal Tax Information or FTI, printing and processing electronically submitted forms and presenting data to leadership as needed. Managing records and returns that have been scanned and are awaiting destruction according to retention schedules. Other duties include the processing of various email queues that include researching and pulling documents (for DMS) to be handled appropriately. This staff member will participate in preparing for seasonal staff by preparing/updating training materials, power-points, securing required supplies, creating folders, timesheets, and preparing work areas for seasonal staff to assist in the processing of tax returns and other documents. Physical requirements include sorting documents, lifting batches of documents weighing up to 25 pounds and placing them on shelves and pushing and pulling hampers/carts weighing up to 500 pounds. Time off restrictions during peak periods: mid-end of April and mid-end of October may apply. Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of data collection and storage to compile, assimilate, and organize printed and electronic information.
  • Ability to convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups, including explaining and interpreting inventory reports and correspondences.
  • Demonstrated experience with the utilization of office equipment and other technology (software and systems) to meet work needs.
  • Experience with sorting, tubbing, and delivering of mail.
  • Ability to sort documents.
  • Ability to lift batches of documents weighing up to 25 pounds and place them on shelves.
  • Ability to push and pull hampers/carts weighing up to 500 pounds.
