About The Position

The Forklift Operator loads and unloads trailers, loads shipping containers, and safely transports and stages materials in their designated locations. Accurate and efficient work supports productivity, profitability, and the organization’s overall mission. The role operates equipment effectively and efficiently, contributes to a safe and welcoming environment for employees and customers, and helps provide a workplace where participants can train and develop toward their goals.

A typical full-time schedule is 35–40 hours per week, with open availability that includes a combination of days, nights, and weekends, totaling at least 35 hours per week. The operator must be willing and able to be cross-trained and to train new employees. There are no overnight or late closing shifts, and holiday hours are limited; retail locations are closed on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Forklift operating experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, employees, and customers.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
• Ability to interact with a diverse population in a human-services setting.
• High initiative and self-motivation.
• Perseverance and commitment to completing the job.
• Availability for a combination of days, nights, and weekends, totaling at least 35 hours per week for the typical full-time schedule.
• Willingness and ability to be cross-trained and train new employees.
