About The Position

Pratt Industries – Cedar Hill is hiring a Forklift Operator for the second shift, scheduled from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with a starting pay rate of $20 to $22.72 per hour. The operator moves materials and products to appropriate staging areas, maintains accurate inventory-location records, performs basic equipment maintenance, assists with general operations, and completes housekeeping duties. Safety is a top priority, and the role offers opportunities to grow in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

The operator follows safety and operational guidelines, handles materials and equipment carefully, supports efficient production operations, participates in training, and helps maintain production schedules. The position also includes assisting and training coworkers, including machine operators and helpers, and may involve other duties assigned by management. Weekend shifts may be needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Lift Truck Operator License, which must be maintained.
• Ability to identify maintenance needs and take appropriate action.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, multitasking, and time management skills.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift materials.
• Close, distance, color, and peripheral vision abilities.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in the corrugating industry.
• Previous forklift operation experience.
• Experience working with warehouse management systems.

Responsibilities

• Move various-sized units and products to the correct staging areas.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory locations.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and ensure maintenance needs are addressed in a timely manner.
• Assist with general operations and complete housekeeping duties.
• Follow safety and operational guidelines and obtain and maintain Pratt Forklift Certification.
• Handle materials and equipment carefully to prevent damage.
• Participate in training programs covering company procedures and safety protocols.
• Assist and train fellow team members, including machine operators and helpers.
• Participate in meeting production schedules and proactively resolving challenges.
• Support coworkers with various tasks and be available to work weekend shifts when needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
