Forklift Operator (Experienced) - Foods
About The Position
The Forklift Operator loads, stores, and picks pallets of PepsiCo products using forklifts and warehouse technology to keep inventory flowing to stores. The role includes operating a forklift after training and certification, moving product in and out of trailers, storing product in multi-tiered warehouse storage, selecting cases for orders, and managing inventory with handheld scanners and Inventory Control Systems. General housekeeping and sanitation tasks are also performed as needed. This is a full-time position in Charlotte, North Carolina, paying $26.31 per hour. The schedule varies based on business needs, with a 6:00 a.m. start time and a variable end time. The work is fast-paced and hands-on, with much of the day spent moving product. On-the-job learning includes hands-on and classroom training. The role requires working weekends, holidays, and off shifts, and may involve extreme temperatures, humidity, hazardous or loud equipment, slippery surfaces, and working at heights using ladders or lifts.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Work weekends, holidays, and off shifts as required.
- Lift 15 to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Stand and walk for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Be willing and able to work at heights using ladders or lifts to access plant areas.
- Be willing and able to work in environments with extreme temperatures, humidity, hazardous or loud equipment, and slippery surfaces.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a forklift after training and certification.
- Load and unload product pallets to and from trailers.
- Safely place and store product in multi-tiered warehouse storage.
- Pick the appropriate cases according to orders using required technology.
- Manage warehouse inventory using handheld scanners and Inventory Control Systems.
- Perform general housekeeping and sanitation tasks as needed, such as sweeping, cleaning trailers, and taking out trash.
