The Forklift Operator will be responsible for operating a forklift to processing inbound and outbound shipment activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience operating a forklift required
  • At least one year of experience in shipping and receiving, logistics, or any related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Familiar with cycle counting, picking and posting, and working with an MRP/ERP system
  • Must wear PPE, such as gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, and ear protection, while working on the production floor

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload deliveries using forklifts, dollies, or hand trucks in a safe manner.
  • Verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks and trailers; checks against suppliers count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, supervisor, and purchasing department per company policy.
  • Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
  • Stage received material and product in appropriate location.
  • Create shipping and receiving receipts within system.
  • Performs inspections on received material and product; document and refuse delivery if material and product does not meet quality standards.
  • Maintains inventory management systems to ensure that orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments, as required.
  • Stages product in appropriate staging area for pick up by shipping carrier.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.
